Bryce Dallas Howard says yes, her new 'Mandalorian' episode nods to 'Apollo 13'
Bryce Dallas Howard returned to the Star Wars universe in the latest season of The Mandalorian, and she baked in a tribute to her dad, Solo director Ron Howard.
In "Chapter 11: The Heiress," there's a moment when Mando's ship, the Razor Crest, descends rapidly into a planet's atmosphere. The quick series of shots shows us the ship from multiple angles as atmospheric forces pull at it during its high-speed fall.
One fan noticed that the moment lines up almost exactly with a similar sequence of shots from the senior Howard's 1995 based-on-a-true-story film, Apollo 13. So she cut together a little comparison video and tagged Bryce.
Turns out, she was right. The moment was an intentional homage to Apollo 13, as Bryce herself confirmed when she shared the tweet.

The Mandalorian is now streaming on Disney+.
