Mando's return is not so far, far away.

On Tuesday, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced The Mandalorian will debut its second season in October 2020 — less than a year after its Nov. 12 premiere on Disney+.

Iger also confirmed that the series would run beyond two seasons (no surprise there), and spin-off stories "infusing [The Mandalorian] with more characters and taking those characters in their own direction in terms of series" were being discussed at Disney.

The Star Wars news, revealed during an earnings call with investors and journalists, committed Disney+ to another deadline in an already full fall slate.

Revealed on the call, The Falcon & the Winter Soldier, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first Disney+ television series, is expected in August. WandaVision, another Marvel project centered on Scarlet Witch and Vision, will release in December. Footage from both (along with Loki, due out in 2021) debuted Sunday night during a Super Bowl TV spot.

Exact dates for these projects were not given. Iger did, however, reaffirm an Obi-Wan project and Rogue One prequel in the works for Disney+.

"We are developing both television and features," Iger said on the call, with the caveat that when it came to Star Wars the "priority in the next few years is television." According to the company's latest earnings report, Disney+ has garnered 26.5 million subscribers since its launch in November.

At present, no Star Wars films are in production, but a trilogy from The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson has been rumored for some time. Marvel's Kevin Feige is also developing a Star Wars film.
