Do you ever wake up, turn on the news, and experience the gut-wrenching feeling that at any moment the world might just swallow us all whole? Of course you do, it's 2017!

Well bad news people, it's happening. Well, sort of. Not really. What we're trying to say here is that an ominous sign from the universe in the form of a sinkhole has appeared right outside President Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

*shudders*

A sinkhole in front of the winter White House, you say? What could be more perfect at a time like this?

According to the Palm Beach Daily News, residents were alerted to the 4-foot by 4-foot hole near a new water main on Southern Boulevard via email, and a traffic alert was also posted on social media.

West Palm Beach utility crews reportedly secured the sinkhole outside of the club and set forth on an exploratory excavation to determine the cause, though Twitter users had a few on-point guesses of their own.

Some figured it had to be a result of Trump's recent encounter with the orb in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After all, the traffic alert urged those in the area to "please pay attention to signs..."

Others simply imagined how Trump would attempt to spin this sinkhole into a positive, bragging that no other sinkhole, not even Prime Minister Trumble's, could compare to his.

And some just had a blast coming up with their own explanations for why the road before Trump's resort could be literally crumbling.

While the cause of the sinkhole is unknown, in reality, the cavity could be the result of that major problem that Trump denies: human-caused global warming. The extreme rising sea level has been shown to lead to an increase in sinkholes throughout parts of Florida as saltwater rushes into coastal aquifers.

But in any case, some people are praising the sinkhole for attempting to take down Mar-a-Lago.

Universe, help. But also next time try to swallow the golf course if you can, please.
