The best AirPods Max deal isn't at Amazon during the Big Spring Sale
Save $150: As of March 30, Apple's AirPods Max are available at Woot for just $399, bringing them back down to their lowest price ever. You'll save 27% on their $549 price tag.
Saving $100 on Apple's AirPods Max headphones isn't cool. You know what's cool? Saving $150 on the AirPods Max.
That's exactly the discount you can get if choose to shop at Woot instead of Amazon, Target, or Walmart as of March 30. The latter three retailers have the headphones down to $449 off their $549 list price (or completely sold out), but Woot brought the USB-C AirPods Max are all the way down to $399 — their lowest price ever. That's Amazon officially bested before the end of the Big Spring Sale.
As a headphones reviewer, I generally don't recommend Apple's over-ear headphones due to the discrepancy between their ultra-high price point and years-old specs. And that's before considering that the second generation Maxes are available for preorder now, with a release date of April 1. In other words, it really doesn't make sense to pay $450 for headphones that are about to be past-gen tech.
Paying $399, while still steep, is more of a justifiable decision, especially if you're already fully immersed in the Apple ecosystem. The first gen AirPods Max do have only 20 hours of battery life and no way to completely turn off (they go on sleep mode when not in use). But, they do have a unique design, great well-rounded sound, and solid active noise cancellation.
If you've been waiting to buy them on the cheap, they're currently back at their lowest price ever. You won't want to wait long, though — Woot's sale price only lasts for the next four days, or until the headphones have sold out.
