Mariah Carey's performance on New Year's Eve was an absolute atrocity. But you know who doesn't give a damn? Mariah Carey.

Mariah Carey thinks you should all get over it because "shit happens." In true baller style, the musician gave no apology for the final disaster of 2016, tweeting a "whatevs" to the masses at 2 a.m.. Her fans bowed down in respect for their diva queen.

On Saturday night, the superstar attempted to perform a number of her hits during Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve in Times Square, but was left standing awkwardly on stage when everything fell apart. If you thought Glitter, Carey's 2001 car crash of a film, was the worst kind of disaster, think again.

During her lip-synched rendition of her smash hit "Emotions," Carey said she couldn't hear the track before asking the audience to fill in for her. The show went from bad to worse, with Carey attempting to lip synch along to "We Belong Together" before giving up entirely and letting the vocals play along as she stood there, exasperated.

Her management said technical difficulties, not Carey, were to blame for the mess. "Unfortunately there was nothing she could do to continue with the performance given the circumstances," her spokeswoman Nicole Perna told the Associated Press.

During the abysmal performance, Carey told the audience, "I'm trying to be a good sport here," before closing the show with a diva-esque, hands-in-air mic drop and screw-you-2016 exit from the stage.

Thanks to Carey, the final minutes of 2016 were a gift. Here's to following Carey's lead and not giving a damn in 2017.
