Mario Batali's sexual misconduct apology came with a cinnamon roll recipe

Here's how not to apologize for years of sexual misconduct.

People who subscribe to Mario Batali's email newsletter said they received a questionable apology that started off normal enough.

"As many of you know, this week there has been some news coverage about some of my past behavior," read the email, according to several people, including BuzzFeed's global news director Lisa Tozzi, who posted it on Twitter.

"I have made many mistakes and I am so very sorry that I have disappointed my friends, my family, my fans and my team."

OK, nothing crazy there. But this is reportedly how the email ended:

Just a reminder, he wasn't just accused of making crude comments. A manager at one his restaurants told the Washington Post he saw Batali on a security camera "grope and kiss a woman who appeared to be unconscious." Multiple women have accused him of inappropriate comments and touching.
