LONDON -- Stop messing with us, Hamill.

Everyone's favourite Jedi badass clearly enjoys winding up Star Wars fans on Twitter. In the last week, he's posted not one but TWO "hints" about Episode VIII -- and he appears to have zero remorse for his actions.

On Thursday, Hamill sent the following birthday tweet to co-star John Boyega.

SONsational, get it? Okay, so it's a tenuous line at best, but for the poor Star Wars fans desperately awaiting the arrival of the next film, it was one tenuous line too many.

People were up in arms.

But Hamill seemed to be lapping up the reactions.

We should expect this of Hamill by now. Only a few days ago, he tweeted support for Daisy Ridley (a.k.a. Rey) after she hit back at bodyshamers on Instagram -- and simultaneously dropped a sneaky hint about Rey's possible parentage.

Could there be truth in Hamill's jokes? It's always possible; there are already plenty of fan theories about parentage flying around. But we think it's more likely that he just enjoys messing with us.
