If you were at Comic-Con in San Diego over the weekend and you saw someone who looked like they might be a little short for a stormtrooper, it was probably Mark Hamill.

The Star Wars legend and full-time internet rascal decided to have some anonymous fun at the annual fan gathering in San Diego. So he dressed himself up in a variety of costumes -- including Imperial stormtrooper, a classic -- and did the thing.

It all started innocently enough on Thursday, the day the show kicked off, with a bit of misdirection.

But Hamill's too fun-loving to play coy for long. As the weekend unfolded, he posted a series of tweets and tweet re-shares featuring photos in which he was secretly in costume (or so he claimed).

He stanned for Brooklyn Nine-Nine at one point, his most transparent look of the weekend. He also turned himself into an orange-faced, golf club-wielding Darth Vader, which totally wasn't a reference to any real-life politician or anything. And yes, he was the stormtrooper of all our hearts.

Of course, as with most things involving Hamill, things eventually got a little weird.

So. Was Hamill ever really at Comic-Con this weekend? Or were his tweets the IRL equivalent of Star Wars: The Last Jedi's showstopping Force projection?

We may never know the truth, because this wily Jedi Master is so good at keeping everyone guessing.
