The logo for Marvel's new 'Loki' series gets slammed and meme'd by fans
Graphic design is not always Marvel's passion.
Marvel Studios kicked off MCU Phase 4 during San Diego Comic Con this weekend, revealing new projects, movies, and series on the timeline that'll be released in the next few years. This included the announcements of releases for Disney's new streaming service, Disney+.
Making our way through the Avengers roster we have titles for WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, and of course the god of mischief himself, Loki.

You might expect Marvel fans to rejoice over the return of Tom Hiddleston to the role or get pumped for the intriguing plot branching off from Endgame, but the collective response seemed to be "but that logo, though." We gotta talk about this abomination.
Using a confusing array of completely separate fonts (could they even be called fonts?) invoking way too many elements of the character's design, everyone concluded that this was Marvel's Microsoft Word Art fever dream.
And no one could pass up the opportunity to clown them for it.

Some people tried justifying how the chaotic logo was representative of Loki's "chaotic" character, or saying that it alludes to his thievery by "stealing" other letters from MCU titles. Whatever. Logic is irrelevant at this point. Even Comic Sans would've been a better choice to represent this edgelord.
Several tweets point to artist and photographer BossLogic's older, fan version of the logo as the perfect example of well-executed graphic design passion.

Marvel should've picked a theme lane and stayed in it. Lest graphic design continue to be their burden.
