Kid Cudi tells Facebook followers he's gone to rehab for his mental health

Kid Cudi, who leapt into our lives with all those years ago with his breakout track "Day 'n' Nite," has checked himself into rehab on Monday for depression and "suicidal urges."

The rapper posted a lengthy statement about his decision on his Facebook page on Tuesday night Scott Mescudi, explaining that he was "ashamed" of "living a lie."

"I am not at peace. I haven't been since you've known me. If I didn't come here, I would've done something to myself. I simply am a damaged human swimming in a pool of emotions everyday of my life," he wrote.

Mescudi said it was time that to "show myself some love," after years of giving himself to other people.

He won't be around to promote his upcoming album, but promised fans that it will be coming out.

If all goes well his Mescudi's recovery, he hopes to be back in time for Complexcon. The music festival takes place on Nov. 5 and 6 this year, where he's looking forward to sharing plenty of "high fives and hugs."

"Love and light to everyone who has love for me and I am sorry if I let anyone down. I really am sorry. Ill be back, stronger, better. Reborn. I feel like shit, I feel so ashamed. Im sorry," he wrote.
