"There may be nothing more human than the act of putting one foot in front of the other."

This week author and environmentalist Ken Ilgunas joins the MashReads Podcast to discuss his new book Trespassing Across America. The book is a memoir about Ilgunas' time hiking the length of the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline (1,700 miles over 146 days through the middle of Canada and America) and what that journey taught him about the environment.

Mashable's science editor Andrew Freedman also joined us to provide his expertise in environmental issues and the Keystone pipeline.
