Massive Attack has had it with the "bigots and racists" supporting Brexit.

Robert Del Naja, one half of the famed trip-hop duo, had some strong words to share about the United Kingdom's vote to leave the European Union during a Friday set at the British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park.

"As sons of immigrants, we are both very disappointed with the situation," Del Naja said, referring to both himself and to bandmate Grant Marshall (via The Telegraph).

"We can't allow ourselves to fall victim to the populist bullsh*t going on at the moment. We can't let the bigots and racists back into this situation. It's bullsh*t."

The pair played their set in front of an electronic sign bearing the words: "We are in this together."

At one point during the show, Massive Attack was joined on stage by producer, vocalist and occasional collaborator Tricky. Together, the trio played through the songs "Take It There" and "Eurochild."

The latter of those, off the 1994 album Protection, hadn't been performed live in two decades. Del Naja credited the surprise bust-out to Brexit.

"We didn't expect to be singing this 20 years later as a requiem [for Britain's EU membership]."
