Talks of a 'Matrix' reboot are sending Twitter into a spiral of despair

Even on the day that saw the (slow) release of Trump's tax returns, reports of a reboot of The Matrix didn't slip under the radar. Far from it.

After all, who in their right mind would consider remaking one of the most iconic films of the last 20 years? It isn't that old, for one.

People around the world are using Twitter to vent their mutual frustration over the pure injustice of it all. And man, are they pissed.

Warner Bros. is reportedly in the early stages of development of the 1999 science fiction classic's reboot. Michael B. Jordan of Friday Night Lights is reportedly being considered for the lead role, with Zak Penn in talks to write, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
