Rep. Matt Gaetz, a Florida Republican, had a home-field advantage appearing on Fox News' Ingraham Angle on Thursday evening. That didn't stop him from getting called out and shouted down on TV.

Democratic strategist Chris Hahn, a former aide to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, called out Gaetz about the time he wore a gas mask on the House floor amid the coronavirus crisis.

Hahn and Gaetz were arguing about the coronavirus crisis and the fact that voting in Wisconsin took place despite the spread of the virus. Clips of the exchange went viral on Twitter.

"I find it rich, I find it rich that that Congressman Gaetz is talking about politicizing this after the stunt you pulled on the House floor with that gas mask," Hahn said. "I hope you're going to lend that to your constituents."

Gaetz responded that the mask he wore in March was just "making a point that we should be concerned about congressmen because in Congress we go through the dirtiest airports and we interact with a lot of people."

Hahn fired back that those comments were "revisionist history."

Later Hahn again attacked Gaetz after the congressman said it was voter suppression when Democratic commentator James Carville said people may die if they show up to vote.

"Buddy, you shouldn't be talking about people dying because people in your district saw you making fun of this and took this less seriously and may have been infected as a result," Hahn said. "You should be resigning from Congress."

Gaetz called his comments a "testament to the fact that you don't have the intellectual ability to have an actual debate."

The spat then finally came to an end when the host Laura Ingraham called it "too personal."
