The fast food retailer announced Wednesday that it will expand its all-day breakfast menu to include biscuit sandwiches, McGriddles and McMuffins.

The menu expansion goes into effect come September. Currently, breakfast sandwich availability varies by location -- much of the U.S. offers only McMuffins during all-day breakfast, while certain southeastern states offer only biscuit of McGriddle sandwiches.

After years of consumer requests and menu testing in San Diego, McDonald's made all-day breakfast a reality last October. Previously, breakfast was offered until 10:30 a.m. on weekdays and 11:00 a.m. on weekends.
