To McDonald's fans, the introduction of all-day breakfast is very much a dream realised. To the workers behind the grill, not so much.

Australian locations of the fast food restaurant have recently implemented all-day breakfast, with favourites such as McMuffins and hash browns available alongside the regular menu.

The additional menu items have become a total nightmare for some workers, who revealed their frustrations on Reddit Monday in a post asking employees how they manage to do it all. It turns out the breakfast menu's different ingredients, equipment and processes is causing quite the headache.

Who knew a Bacon and Egg McMuffin could cause so much pain?

One redditor "Itsbishi" spoke of how the menu creates extra work in the kitchen with preparation and cleaning required, and no additional hours given to complete the tasks. Grill space is tighter and muffin toasters are "jammed" next to the bun toasters, limiting space for movement in the kitchen.

"Famous_felix" agreed with the extra work sentiment, saying he wished McDonald's would stop going fancy, and stick to the simple stuff. "Turnover for the past few years has been crazy because who the fuck wants to work for shit pay and then expect to pull miracles out of their ass and still get shouted at," he said.

A McDonald's Australia spokesperson told Mashable Australia in an emailed statement they have had a "positive response" to all-day breakfast, pointing out the concept has been in some states for more than six months, is "running smoothly" and has been well received by customers and crew.

It might be the case for some staff, as per a post by Deamonlord who claimed to have worked in the kitchen for six years. "Overall it hasn't been too bad changing to all day breakfast," the redditor said, with the 10:30 a.m. transition to the regular menu made easier by the introduction of a separate grill just for eggs.

"Doctorzaps" begged to differ, taking to reddit during a lunch break the user explains why all-day breakfast "fucking sucks." The redditor pointed to the time it takes to make the breakfast and the lack of cleaning as the major issues.

"Cleaning the grills to put down sausage is a bitch," Doctorzaps said, expressing some workers don't even bother when it comes to cleaning between different types of products. "Do not order all day breakfast after 3 [p.m.] because you don't know what you're going to get, some of my co-workers disgust me," the worker added.

All day breakfast, worth all the sweat and tears.
