Ellen DeGeneres' on-air surprises are iconic.

From bringing Missy Elliot onto her show to sing with her "funky white sister" to introducing kids to Barack Obama, Ellen has a habit of bringing people their heroes — but it takes a dark turn with the "Me on Ellen" memes.

Twitter users imagine themselves as guests on Ellen, where the talk show hosts surprises them with exactly what they want, no matter how gruesome it might be. In one of the first versions of the meme, Ellen brought death itself on to meet Twitter user @cavedevice.
