The people of Mexico are far from thrilled with Donald Trump and his harsh immigration policies, and now they're livid with the new first lady for a controversial magazine cover.

Melania Trump was given the honor of appearing on the cover of the Mexican edition of February's Vanity Fair, but the choice of cover photograph is beyond absurd.

The first lady can be seen posing in a white dress, her wrists and hands decked out with jewels.

The cringeworthy cover features Trump seated at a table as though she is about to eat a delicious bowl of spaghetti, except, oh wait -- it's a bowl filled with diamonds, gems and silver jewelry.

Melania appears to be twirling one of the expensive-looking necklaces with a fork in preparation to take a bite, even using a spoon to aid in her proper dining etiquette and I'm sorry, WHAT IS THIS?!

With the magazine's release coming just one day after President Trump signed an executive order on "Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements" and called for the "immediate construction of a physical wall," Melania's timing could not be worse.

The photo of Trump and accompanying interview, which originally appeared in GQ in the spring, appears to focus on "The Secret of Melania" including her family background, life with her husband and her aspirations to become the new Jackie Kennedy.

However, the people are outraged by the cover and don't see what the U.S. first lady posing with a bunch of jewelry has to do with any pressing issues.

On Friday morning, after the President of Mexico cancelled his scheduled meeting with Trump, POTUS tweeted the following:

Since Mexico wants nothing to do with Trump's wall or the payment process, maybe Melania can cash in some of those jewels to help fund it.
