The stars of Stars Hollow have finally aligned: Melissa McCarthy will officially be part of Netflix's Gilmore Girls reboot. McCarthy's character Sookie, best friend and colleague of Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham), was always a fan favorite, but her return is hugely significant because of her massive movie success over the past several years.

The news of McCarthy's return to Gilmore universe delighted fans and costars, proving the salience of the show and of Sookie as a character.

Graham, who shared the most scenes with McCarthy on Gilmore Girls, tweeted her joy and support of McCarthy's latest film release:

Emojis were abundant, because how else are we supposed to express our unconditional love and a need to party with confetti?

And of course, there were GIFs:

As with all revivals, there is the stick territory of raised expectations...

...but it's early on and all we know is pure excitement.

Special shoutout to this boy who is about to watch all seven (or six) seasons on Netflix:

Finally, all is right with the revival.
