A man who wrote a message in a bottle for the 'sea people' got a rude, yet hilarious reply

Never give up.

The River Thames that runs through London isn't generally the place where one would hope to encounter sea people. That didn't prevent a man from throwing a message in a bottle for the mythical creatures into the water.

Surprisingly, the man received a response a week later from a group of school girls who found the bottle while canoeing. He texted his friend about the exchange who then posted the conversation to Reddit.

The Redditor RabidSailor shared screenshots of the conversation along with this message:

"So my friend wrote a message in a bottle to the sea people and threw it in the Thames a week ago. He got a phone call calling him an idiot and then this text back today."

When other Redditors wanted to know what the message said, RabidSailor wrote:

His friend has much to learn. Doesn't he know that sea people are averse to modern technology?

The best part of this story is imagining the phone call this guy received from a band of school girls calling him an idiot for his search for water folk.

We're happy that the girls changed their tune, though, because they're right -- you should never give up... especially if your dream is to find sea people in the Thames. Your search might be long and futile, but it produces hilarious moments like this.
