This message in a bottle is the perfect Christmas gift
Christmas is just around the corner, and that means it’s time for you to make that mad dash to the shops and pick up something last minute for your loved ones. How do you surprise your friends and family year after year though? Seeking out the most meaningful, heartfelt gifts can be tough, and Coca-Cola has decided it’s time to throw it back to the older days and send your nearest and dearest a Message in a Bottle -- digital age style.
Coca-Cola has come through with an innovative way to show your loved ones you care. Message in a Coca Cola Bottle allows you to record a message of up to 30 seconds that will play back when the recipient opens their bottle - that’s right, they’ll get their own personalized message and a refreshing bottle of the good stuff. The state of the art sound cap technology was built by Spanish Digital Agency Gigigo, and Coca-Cola chose to partner with Buenos Aires based agency DAVID to create their Message in a Bottle digital film above.
The limited-edition bottles will be available in two stores in Sicily, and you might hear a festive message or two on social media too, as selected social stars are set to get their Christmassy hands on a bottle too. While the innovative new digi-bottle won’t be available widely just yet it may not be long until it’s in the shops, as Coca-Cola is trialling the product with a view to making it available for all.
At least that’s a gift or two sorted for next year then, fingers crossed!
