Meta is reportedly, actually, finally rolling out its hot new VR feature: legs.

Meta Quest avatars have famously been upper body only. Now beta testers for Meta's Quest Home, but not the game Horizon Worlds, have access to the new leg feature, the Verge reported.

Users have reported that you only see the legs when looking at someone else or when looking in the VR mirror. It also seems like the avatar's movements don't match its user if the user crouches.

Meta promised the addition of legs all the way back in October 2022. And yet here we are in August of 2023.

"I know you've been waiting for this. Everyone has been waiting for this," Meta's Mark Zuckerberg said at the time. "But seriously, legs are hard, which is why other virtual reality systems don't have them either."

It all seemed so silly that the Metaverse legs became a meme in no time flat.

Legs might be hard, but they also might be coming soon. What a wonderful (virtual) world.
