Metallica was never going to keep quiet forever.

The band has announced its new album, Hardwired…To Self-Destruct and released its first single, "Hardwired."

The album, to be released Nov. 18, is Metallica's first release since 2008, with the exception of their reviled collaboration with Lou Reed in 2012, Lulu. The album itself will span over two discs, with a third disc of bonus material.
