'Metroid Prime 4' makes fanfolk dreams come true at E3 2017
Metroid. Prime. 4.
Nintendo used the E3 2017 stage to deliver the news that fans have been waiting 10 years to hear: Metroid -- a real one -- is coming back, and it's a follow-up to the beloved Prime trilogy.
That's the good news. The bad news? There's not much else we can tell you right now. It's a Switch game, of course. It's coming... eventually. Nintendo won't even commit to 2018. Prepare for a wait.
It will be a first-person adventure, and producer Kensuke Tanabe will return to shepherd the game into being, just as he did for the original Prime trilogy.
That's... it. We'd love to share more, but Nintendo wants to keep the details close for now. Hopefully we'll get our first look next year... and hopefully it's a reinvention on par with the sensational The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Find the nothingburger of a teaser below. Whatever. The hype is still very real.
