'Mighty No. 9' Kickstarter backers finally get their reward and it's... about as laughably bad as the game

Roughly a year after Might No. 9's release and four years after it was funded on Kickstarter, some Kickstarter backers are finally receiving their backer rewards in...some kind of form, anyway.

The game box backers were promised for supporting the game at the $60 level arrived in pieces.

As one hopeful backer discovered recently, and documented on Twitter, the game's box came in pieces and required assembly. And there was no actual game included, which wasn't promised by the developer, but the Kickstarter tier was phrased awkwardly enough that at least one unhappy customer assumed they'd be receiving the game with the box, too.

Twitter user Isfet shared the Might No. 9 package they received in the mail Tuesday on Twitter, showing off a flat stack of cardboard that clearly needed to be put together. Others are less displeased with the lack of effort on shipping -- suggesting that it'd be difficult and wasteful to ship a fully-constructed box as opposed to a neatly-packed on -- but Isfet and others noticed that, once all was said and done, the manual didn't even fit inside the box. What the hell.

This is just the latest in a long saga of criticisms of Mighty No. 9, including its multiple release delays, the developer trying to Kickstart another game project before Mighty No. 9 even came out, a horrible trailer, and then a poorly received finished product.
