Nintendo's social network, Miitomo, launches in the U.S. and Europe on Thursday.

Miitomo allows users to create or import their own Mii avatar, then let it interact with friends on Nintendo's first mobile app.

Miitomo launched in Japan on March 17, and was installed 1 million times over its first three days. Users interact by answering questions posed by the app and commenting on questions their friends have answered.

Miitomo is also the first service to tie into Nintendo's new overarching account system, MyNintendo.

To encourage people to sign up, creating an account and pre-registering for Miitomo will get you some extra in-game currency, which can be used to buy outfits for your Mii. (Miitomo is free, but outfits and extras can be purchased for in-game or real money.)

Miitomo will be out for iOS and Android.
