Like many Americans, Mischa Barton is horrified that unarmed black men continue to be shot dead by the police, who are supposed to be protecting citizens, not killing them.

Unlike many Americans, Mischa Barton expressed this sentiment in the caption of an Instagram of herself looking pensive in a bikini on a yacht, wine glass in hand.

"This may have been going on forever in the United States, but thank god the pigs get caught on camera now," wrote Barton, calling Alton Sterling's death an execution.

The actress, who has been in France for Paris Fashion week, also cdemands stricter gun control and calls on her fellow Americans to use the upcoming presidential election as an opportunity to take action.

Again, this text is all accompanied by a photo of Mischa Barton on vacation for some baffling reason.

Maybe when she's calling for critical thinking from her fellow citizens, she should consider sending the message with a touch more sensitivity. Just a thought.

Read the full text of her caption below:

I'm truly heart broken to watch videos like the #altonsterling execution,” Barton wrote in the since-deleted post. “This may have been going on forever in the United States but thank god the pigs get caught on camera now. Its unthinkable and an embarrassment to America. The country I was brought up in. Somebody make change. We need gun control and unity. And a real President so think about that when this election is around the corner. The world is a precarious place right now.#stop #reflect and #act appropriately.

Update, July, 7 3:55 p.m. ET:  Barton has deleted the Instagram.
