Wait, so a country that's been intensely divided for months now can't come to an agreement on the new Miss USA? Sounds about right.

Miss District of Colombia, AKA Kara McCullough, won the coveted Miss USA 2017 crown Sunday night and was immediately greeted with... mixed reviews.

A government chemist and woman of color, people were originally really excited to see her compete and make it into the top 10.

The clapback arrived after her Q&A segments, where she was asked about feminism and healthcare-- no easy task to talk about in under 30 seconds, and two of the most divisive topics du jour. When asked if she identified as a feminist, she said this:

So, Miss D.C. isn't a feminist... she's an equalist. And she equates feminism with "hating men," one of the most pervasive and untrue stereotypes of feminism as a whole.

And on healthcare, we get:

Healthcare isn't a right but a privilege for Miss D.C., and not only that, but to have healthcare you have to have a job.

Surely she was aiming for some sort of inspirational "we need more jobs so everyone has healthcare!" but unfortunately, that's not quite how it came off.

A lot of people were not happy about her answers: boiled down they amount to "feminism is about hating men," and "affordable healthcare is a privilege, not a right," the first being untrue and the second being unpopular.

We were rooting for you!!

A lot of people were left questioning how the judges decided if answers were... good.

On the other hand, conservatives and people who agreed with Miss D.C.'s statements rejoiced that she wasn't afraid to voice her opinion, even if it was an unpopular one, on a national stage.

Some even called out feminists for talking down to Miss D.C..

And to think, if only she'd been asked about the pros and cons of social media like Miss New Jersey, this all could've been avoided.
