The only thing that could make Monopoly more anger-inducing is the inclusion of blue shells, yet here we are.

Hasbro and Nintendo have teamed up to create Monopoly Gamer: Mario Kart Edition, a follow-up to last year's Super Mario-themed Monopoly Gamer, but this time players control their favorite Mushroom Kingdom racers while vying for control of various courses from the latest Mario Kart game.

Instead of using regular Monopoly money, players collect and spend coins as they race around the board, stopping on courses like Rainbow Road, Mario Kart Stadium, and Mount Wario from Mario Kart 8.

Along with the usual movement system using dice, players can drop banana tokens to slow opponents down and get power-ups from the Super Star space to give them even more of an advantage. People in first place should always be wary of getting hit with a blue shell.

Another unique component is the racing feature, which is triggered when players pass Go and has players race to win a helpful Grand Prix card.

Monopoly Gamer: Mario Kart Edition is available now through GameStop and will be coming to other retailers in June. Other Mario Kart characters like Donkey Kong, Rosalina, Shy Guy, and Bowser will be available to buy through separate Power Packs this summer.
