'Monster Hunter' is coming to the Nintendo Switch

The Monster Hunter franchise is busting onto yet another console. Probably with a huge buster sword.

Capcom and Nintendo announced on Thursday that Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate will be coming to Nintendo Switch.

Monster Hunter is no stranger to portable consoles, the original incarnation having been a 3DS game. This is however the franchise's Western debut on the hybrid console, having come out in Japan in August 2017.

"For the first time, gamers have the flexibility to play both local wireless and online multiplayer with up to three other hunters," Capcom announced in a press statement. "Whether playing at home on the big screen or on the go in handheld or tabletop mode."

They also said that players will "off against the series' largest roster of unique monsters in this nostalgic look back at the series’ beginnings and evolutions." That's the kind of biodiversity folks can get behind, the kind that involves murder.

Additionally, if you've played the original Monster Hunter Generations you'll be able to transfer over your save data.
