The Samsung Galaxy S9 may have stereo speakers and 3D emoji
NEW YORK, NY - AUGUST 23: Justin Denison, senior vice president of product strategy at Samsung, speaks about the during new Samsung Galaxy Note8 smartphone during a launch event for the product, August 23, 2017 in New York City. The Galaxy Note8 will be released in stores on September 15. The previous Galaxy Note 7 model had to be recalled due to self-combusting batteries. Samsung's upcoming smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S9, will have some significant upgrades over the Galaxy S8, according to ETNews (via Android Authority).

The report claims the S9 will feature Animoji-style 3D emoji which will mimic users' facial expressions.

It will also feature dual stereo speakers on the top and bottom of the phone, according to the report. The new speaker setup means users won't have to worry about accidentally covering up a speaker while playing games or watching videos and interrupting their audio.

The report also indicates the infamous Bixby button will remain on the left of the screen. This could mean Samsung is still working towards improving Bixby to the point where it can compete with the likes of Siri and Google Assistant. Don't worry, Bixby haters: On the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, and Galaxy Note 8, you can disable the Bixby button, so that will probably continue on the S9.

Animoji were one of the most highly anticipated features of the iPhone X, and the S9's corresponding technology may mean it's gearing up to be a serious competitor. And if previous rumors of enhanced facial recognition technology on the S9 are true, Samsung's newest phone could be a force to be reckoned with.

We'll find out for sure on Feb. 25, when the device officially launches.
