Season 2 of Mr. Robot, which just received an additional two episodes for a total of 12, picks up 30 days after fsociety's 5/9 hack and will "explore the consequences of that attack as well as the illusion of control," according to the network.
Mr. Robot was a breakout hit in its first season and the show stacked up several awards for USA Network, including a Golden Globe.
Building upon its success, USA announced Thursday the show will be getting an after show in its sophomore season, called Hacking Robot.
“The first season of Mr. Robot was everything we hoped for – and then some,” said Chris McCumber, president of entertainment networks at NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, in a statement. “So it’s no surprise that Sam and team have raised the bar even more in season two. From the first moments of the new season, it’ll be clear that audiences are in for something incredibly special and wholly unexpected.”
Hacking Robot will premiere after the show's Season 2 premiere on July 13.
