Kamala Khan, welcome to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

At D23 Friday, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige shared that a live-action Ms. Marvel series will be coming to Disney+. "And then you will see her in our films," he added.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Bisha K. Ali (Four Weddings and a Funeral) will serve as writer and showrunner.

Though the Ms. Marvel moniker has been used by various characters over the years -- originating with Carol Danvers in 1977, back in the days before she was Captain Marvel -- the new series will focus on the most recent Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan.

The character is a Pakistani-American teenager from Jersey City, and the first Muslim character to headline her own Marvel comic. She is gifted with shapeshifting abilities thanks to her Inhuman genes.

Ms. Marvel is the latest in a growing list of Marvel-related series coming to Disney+. Also coming down the pipeline over the next few years are The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, What If...?, and Hawkeye.
