'Straight Outta Compton' cast joke about Oscar snub at MTV Movie Awards

When Kendrick Lamar presented the cast of Straight Outta Compton with the MTV Movie Award for best True Story, the crew made a callback to 2016's #OscarsSoWhite controversy.

After thanking N.W.A founding members Ice Cube, MC Red, Dr. Dre and "Eazy Mother f*cking E," Jason Mitchell, who played Eazy-E in the film, took the mic -- and apparently threw shade at Oscars for snubbing the movie. (Compton was nominated for only one Academy Award, for Best Original Screenplay.)
"I've got to hold it down for a second, for real. I would just like to take a moment to thank the Academy," said Jason Mitchell -- before being reminded of where he was standing.
"I mean, MTV," Mitchell corrected himself. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. My bad, my bad, my bad"
Mitchell also gave a shoutout to MTV for being supportive of N.W.A. over the years. “You’ve all been pioneers for the N.W.A.," he said.
