8 ways in which India chilled with Netflix in 2016

Video streaming giant Netflix, which launched in India in January, has observed some fascinating things about Indian viewers in the last one year.

Besides lapping up Netflix's refreshing, original content, Indians turned out to be both similar and dissimilar to global audiences.

Here are some trends from 2016.

1. 'Narcos' and 'House of Cards' are among the most popular shows.

Others include The Crown, Daredevil, Stranger Things and so on.

2. 'Suits' hooked Indian viewers in the shortest time. It took just two episodes to do that.

3. Meanwhile, popular prison-drama 'Orange Is The New Black' took six episodes to do that.

4. Indie caper 'Brahman Naman' was among the most popular Indian productions on Netflix.

5. Films are less devoured than TV shows.

6. Indians like pairing. They watch movies after TV shows.

7. Bollywood film 'Piku' after TV series 'Fuller House' was among the most interesting pairings.

8. And India takes just 3 days to get hooked to a show. That's faster than the global average of 4.
