Ricky Gervais has announced that The Office movie spinoff is coming to Netflix.

On Tuesday, the comedian revealed on SiriusXM’s the Opie with Jim Norton Show show that the streaming giant has picked up his film David Brent: Life on the Road.

“This is exciting news and this is top secret, so I’m going to say it now. Netflix has bought out the rest of the world again,” Gervais said on the radio show. “Which is great for me, because I’d rather 20 million people see it than half a million people see it in cinemas, do you know what I mean? Because I want to do tours off the back of it. So for me, it’s great."

Directed, written by and starring Gervais, the film follows David Brent twelve years after the events of The Office, the popular British comedy series that inspired the American TV show of the same name. The movie hits UK theaters on Aug. 19.

"Brent is now a traveling salesman, chasing his dream of rock stardom by self-financing a UK tour with his band, ‘Foregone Conclusion,'" the movie description reads

Entertainment One (eOne) co-financed the film with BBC, with both running distribution overseas.

Per Gervais, Netflix will pick it up in 2017.

Netflix confirmed the news in a release on Thursday.

“We are thrilled to welcome the iconic character of David Brent back to Netflix, as we were the home to the first digital deal for The Office, starring Ricky Gervais," Ted Sarandos, Netflix chief content officer, said in a statement. "Our existing collaborations across series, for Derek, and in film, with Special Correspondents have been fruitful, and it’s only fitting for us to have Ricky’s upcoming feature film available to as many of our viewers as possible."
