There's a new Iron Man in town.

Marvel announced that a new character, Riri Williams, will be taking Tony Stark's place in an upcoming comic, Time reports. She's a genius who enrolled at MIT at 15, and Stark finds out about her after she builds her own Iron Man suit in her dorm.

Writer Brian Michael Bendis, who was also involved int he creation of characters like Miles Morales and Jessica Jones, tells Time he came up with the character after hearing a news story about a "brilliant young woman" from Chicago. Her life was "marred by tragedy that could have easily ended her life," but she ended up going off to college.

"I thought that was the most modern version of a superhero or superheroine story I had ever heard," he said. "And I sat with it for awhile until I had the right character and the right place."

They meet when Stark "goes to find this young woman who is flying around the middle of America in an armor that’s not completely made to try to find out what her deal is."

"Her brain is maybe a little better than his. She looks at things from a different perspective that makes the armor unique. He can’t help but go maybe I should buy her out," he adds.

Also, Bendis says fans should not think they now know how Civil War II will end.

"More people are going to be upset that they think they know the ending to Civil War II now than anything we just talked about," he says. "But I can tell you just because we’re hearing what we’re saying doesn’t know you mean how Civil War II ends. We’re not telling you the end, at all."
