Jeff Bezos says Amazon will unveil a new Kindle next week

Heads up Kindle fans: A new "top of the line" e-reader will be announced next week, as Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos teased Monday on Twitter.

It’s been awhile since we had a new Kindle; the Kindle Voyage was released in October 2014. It featured a new, high-resolution glass display with adaptive backlighting.

In June 2015, Amazon updated its popular Kindle Paperwhite to include the higher-resolution screen of the Voyage and a new font.

As to what Amazon plans to introduce with the new Kindle, that’s unclear. But Wired’s David Pierce suggests that integration with Alexa and Audible could be fantastic.

It’s interesting to note that Bezos chose Twitter to announce the news. It's a platform he isn’t particularly active on.
