While a lot of Britain is in shock at the election of Donald J. Trump, one Brit in particular is happy with the results.

Nigel Farage -- outgoing leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) and Brexit campaigner -- predicted a Trump victory all along.

During election night Farage tweeted many comparisons between the Leave campaign's victory in the EU referendum and Trump's election as U.S. president.

Farage compared Trump's victory in the key swing state of Florida to how Sunderland voted for Brexit.

61% of voters in Sunderland opted to leave the EU in what was considered as a pivotal moment for the night of the EU referendum results.

The Leave campaign was expected to win the north east city by a small margin.

Across the pont in the US, Trump won in Florida despite polls predicting a Clinton victory due to the state's large Latino population.

Nigel Farage also said that Trump "represents change in this election just as Leave did in the EU referendum".

Farage has been a vocal supporter of Trump thought the presidential campaign, appearing with him at a rally in Jackson, Mississippi.

He has said that he would like to work for Trump as his ambassador to the EU. And he defended Trump's lewd comments about women, saying they were no more than "alpha male boasting." made by a "silverback gorilla".

In Trump's final speech before the polls opened, he predicted a "Brexit plus, plus, plus".

Looks like he got it right.
