Nintendo Direct to be held Thursday – get ready for Mario's new voice
Last week, Mario's longtime voice actor Charles Martinet retired from the role. This week, we get to hear his replacement.
Nintendo announced a new Nintendo Direct livestream for Thursday at 10 a.m. ET to showcase Super Mario Bros. Wonder. The game, which was shown in a reveal trailer a couple of months ago, will get a much bigger and more detailed spotlight over the course of roughly 15 minutes.

Obviously we're excited to see more of the game for the regular reasons, but it's also of interest because Nintendo confirmed to GameSpot last week that Martinet would not voice Mario in Wonder, despite the game being announced well before the retirement announcement. We don't yet know who the new voice actor is, but the Direct should be an opportunity to hear their performance in greater detail than the initial trailer allowed.
