It's Tuesday, June 12, the day E3 2018 proper kicks off. And like clockwork, Nintendo zoomed in right before the show floor opened to try to steal everyone's thunder.

The publisher brought its expected crowd-pleasers -- looks at Metroid and Super Smash Bros., obviously -- but there were plenty of smaller announcements that should delight fans just as much.

From a new Mario Party to a nifty-looking new mech game, here are all the highlights.

Daemon X Machina

We don't know anything about this mech game from Marvelous Entertainment that's coming to Switch. But it sure does look pretty, and this trailer is awash with heavy metal power chords.

It's perfect.

Super Mario Party

Nintendo's beloved virtual board game series is finally coming to Switch. We never imagined a world where that wouldn't happen, but it's wonderful to have it confirmed.

This new take on Mario Party looks like it takes advantage of the Switch's uniquely portable capabilities. At one point, you can see a group of players positioning two mobile-configured Switch tablets right next to each other, doubling the size of the game board.

We should find out plenty more well before Super Mario Party hits stores on Oct. 5, 2018.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Nintendo's teased a Switch Fire Emblem game, and now we know what it is. Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

This first look at the tactical RPG shows off beautifully animated combat that appears to zoom in and out as the action moves along. The new Fire Emble, which we now know is subtitled Three Houses, was originally slated for a 2018 release, but it seems to have now slipped to spring 2019.

Octopath Traveler

It won't be long before you can finally play this gorgeous Japanese RPG from Square Enix; Octopath Traveler is out on July 13. But this newly released trailer takes yet another plunge in Octopath's uniquely animated world.

The game follows players on an adventure through the newly imagined world of Orsterra. A demo has been available in the Switch eShop for some time, and any progress you make there will also carry into the final game. Enjoy this latest look.

Overcooked 2

The best collaborative cooking video game where you prepare dishes in outlandish places like pirate ships and outer space has a sequel incoming on Aug. 7 (to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, as well as Switch).

Nintendo's E3 2018 showcase delivered a new trailer, and it looks just as chaotic and entertaining as the last game.
