Universal Studios Japan will have the world's first Nintendo-themed park

The $350 million expansion is set to rival "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter."

Universal Studios and Nintendo are slowly revealing details about their partnership announced last year.

The two companies announced on Saturday that Universal Studios Japan will be the first location to have Nintendo-themed attractions, according to Sankei, a Japanese news outlet.

The first attractions to open in the Osaka park will feature mega-popular game star Mario, according to The Telegraph. The park is expected to be similar in scale to the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" park, including rides, restaurants and souvenir shops.

The $350 million expansion -- indicated in red below -- will replace an event space currently at the park's entrance.

The addition to Universal Studios Japan is projected to open in 2020, set to coincide with the Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
