Here's a lesson for all you aspiring hoopers out there — shoe untied? Call a timeout.

Unfortunately for Northwestern point guard Ashley Deary, she didn't. With the Wildcats hosting Rutgers on Thursday, Deary started a drive in the second quarter, but noticed her untied shoelace before getting too far down the court.

She reaches down and looks at the ref, but never appears to call time out, leaving the ball ripe for the taking. She ends up on the floor, down two points.

Poor Deary. It looks like the ref even gives her a warning that Rutgers is charging down the court. It was an embarrassing moment, earning a #SCNotTop10 hashtag from Sports Center on Instagram. But it didn't matter in the grand scheme of things — Northwestern still won 60-38.

You can bet Deary will be tying her shoes before bringing the ball in from now on, though.
