Norwegian architecture firm Code unveiled photos of a new viewing platform in Utsikten, in the southern region of Nortway, that will open this summer.

The triangular viewing platform is perched over a cliff, offering views of fjords, mountains and valleys — from a couple thousand feet up.

Code won a design competition in 2008 to create the platform at Utsikten, a stop on Gaularfjell, one of Norway's National Tourist Routes.

The design of the platform is very simple — a giant concrete triangle — but the result is jaw-dropping.

There will be paths to walk alongside and underneath the viewing platform, according to the firm. The tip of the triangle sits about 2,300 feet above sea level.

The platform has more than just pretty views: There is an amphitheater that will be used for cultural performances. And the energy needed to keep the amphitheater and bathrooms running is provided by solar panels, installed on one side of the triangle.

The entire project cost roughly $2 million and stretches a little more than 2,600 square feet across. Construction began in 2014.

The National Routes of Norway have a history of great design: Last year, one of the toilets along the route was named the "World's Best Public Toilet" for its dramatic cliffside viewing platform.
