Guy creates the ultimate 'nose ring' from a cast of his nose
Presenting, the "nose ring." Now with more nose.
Artist David Watson created a funny alternative to the traditional nose ring with his latest project, a ring that features a metal cast of his actual nose.

Watson, a graduate student studying digital fabrication, art and technology at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, spoke to Mashable about the project. He said he scanned and 3D-printed a model of his nose, before casting the piece in bronze and aluminum.
"I think I was compelled by the pun of the nose ring," he said via email. "I will go a great distance for a punch line."
But from an academic perspective, there's more to the ring than just a joke.
"Most of my art uses humor," Watson said. "Humor makes things approachable but can also amplify an idea."
"My nose piece is silly and that is its main thing but, at the same time, I think the piece contributes to the makers movement which is fueled by this idea that the means of production is shifting," he said. "In the course of a day, I can scan an object, 3D print it, make a mold and cast it. Tools, education, technologies, like the 3D printer, are becoming more accessible. All of that is really exciting."
