'Not Sorry Project' makes space for the things we shouldn't have to apologize for
For many of us, saying "sorry" can seem like second nature. But there are some things we shouldn't have to apologize for -- and that's what The Not Sorry Project is all about.
"People use apologies as a way to fill space and ease social interactions," says the project's website. "Often people apologize for things they're not actually sorry about, or things they think they are supposed to be sorry about."

"What you are NOT SORRY about is important," it continues. "Your non-apologies deserve space in the world!"
Each project submission, which are posted to Instagram against lovely, colorful photographs, contains a statement for which the submitter has decided they will not apologize, for which they are not sorry.
Why? Because sometimes, to stay happy -- or to stay alive -- you've got to be unapologetic.
Check out a few of the submissions below -- or, if you're feeling not sorry, submit your own statement.
