When Redditor Muctur opened a used vinyl that he bought on the Internet, he received much more than some new jams.

In the record was a note from the previous owner's mother, which gave a little bit of history on where the music had been.

According to the note, the record belong to a man named Mark who sadly passed away in 2002 while running in the Oregon coastal mountains. Mark's mother Sabine explains that he was a big collector of music while attending college.

Mark had over 2,000 CDs and 600 LPs, and occasionally his mother would ask him what she should do with all of his music if something should happen. Like a true lover of music, Mark told Sabine to listen to it.

"Well I did listen to it a few times," Sabine explained, "but now it's time to share them."

Sabine explained that dispersing Mark's music around the world is therapeutic for her, and that all of the money will go toward's Mark's son's education.

Muctor explains in the comment section that the record now holds a sentimental value.

And in case you're wondering, the record was Soundgarden's Superunknown.
