The Australian people have a new mascot for gorgeous weirdness after a young man decided to take his pet snake for a train trip.

The police were called to the scene after passengers alerted the authorities that a fellow commuter thought it was a great idea to show everyone the 3-foot-long jungle python he had in his backpack.

The NSW police released a statement online early this morning as well as tweeting a picture of the adventurous terror cylinder with eyes. Oh, and they topped it off with a well placed Snakes On A Plane reference, because of course they did.
