Warning: Contains an onion-load of spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 7.

It's now been well-established that Ser Davos is fast becoming one of the greatest characters in Game of Thrones.

We're not going to list all the reasons why again here, because frankly there are just far too many.

Anyway, thanks to Reddit user gendrkheinz we now have even more evidence of just how damn wise the Onion Knight is -- and it comes via an old book quote from Stannis:

"I had the cart before the horse, Davos said," confides book Stannis. "I was trying to win the throne to save the kingdom, when I should have been trying to save the kingdom to win the throne."

This is exactly what Daenerys is going to have to do to win the Iron Throne.

She's already starting to worry some people with her fiery tactics so far this season, and if the episode 5 trailer is anything to go by she's about to worry people even more.

Once she's accepted that the White Walkers are more dangerous than Cersei, though it's all going to turn around.

With Davos and Jon Snow on hand to point her in the right direction, it's surely just a matter of time before the Dragon Queen sees sense.
