OnePlus' next affordable smartphone, the oft-rumored OnePlus Nord 2, is now official.

The company announced the new device on Twitter, along with a short teaser video and the taglines "pretty much everything you could ask for" and "coming soon."

While that doesn't tell us very much, OnePlus also announced that the Nord 2 would be the company's first phone to feature a MediaTek processor — more precisely, the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 AI.

"We've worked with MediaTek to build an exclusive AI-enhanced experience that takes photography, display tech, and gaming to a new dimension," the company said.

In a post on company forums, OnePlus goes into a few more details, explaining that the new processor will bring AI-assisted photography, display enhancements, as well as better response times for faster and smoother gaming.

We sort of knew the Nord 2 was coming, thanks to a recent leak on OnePlus' own website.

There's no word on other specs, and pricing and availability are still a mystery — though it can't be long now until OnePlus reveals all the details.
